About the player
Douglas Moreira Fagundes, known as Dodi, wears the number 17 shirt for Grêmio's midfield, a role he plays as a right-footed defensive midfielder. Born in Santo Antônio do Sudoeste, Paraná, he came through as a youth player at the club.
His time at Fluminense marked the peak of his individual recognition: in 2020 he was named to ESPN's Bola de Prata, an honour reserved for the best players at each position in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A that season. He moved to Santos in 2023 before returning to Grêmio, the club where he had come through as a youth player.
Back at his boyhood club, Dodi has settled into the engine room of the midfield and been part of Grêmio's regional successes, winning the Campeonato Gaúcho in 2024 and again in 2026, as well as the Recopa Gaúcha in 2025.
