Erik Klein

Erik Klein is a second-generation player at New England Revolution: his father, Steve Klein, turned out for the club in 1997 and now runs coaching at PA Classics, the Pennsylvania academy where Klein started out. He moved to the Revolution Academy in 2023 and helped the club's Under-19 side lift the MLS NEXT Cup that year, a season capped by being named the Revolution Academy Player of the Year for 2023–24.

His path to the first team ran through New England Revolution II, where he made his professional debut in July 2023 as an amateur before signing his first contract in September 2024. He was the team's most-used midfielder in the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro season, leading the side in starts and minutes played. That workload led to a Homegrown Player contract with the first team in May 2025, making him the 15th Homegrown signing in club history, and he made his MLS debut days later.

In April 2026 he set up two goals in the U.S. Open Cup Round of 16 tie against Orlando City SC. With Rhode Island FC short of options in midfield through injury, Klein joined the USL Championship side on loan in August 2026 for the rest of the season, going on to make five appearances there.

His contract with New England Revolution runs through the end of 2026, with club options extending it to 2029.
