About the player
Turner's route to the top level ran through the lower rungs of American soccer: two seasons with Jersey Express in the USL Premier Development League, then a spell on loan at Richmond Kickers after New England Revolution signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2016. He stayed at New England until 2022, and it was there that his career turned — the 2021 season brought the Supporters' Shield, the MLS Goalkeeper of the Year award, the All-Star Game MVP and a place in the MLS Best XI, on top of being named the Gold Cup's best goalkeeper with the United States that summer.
That run took him to Arsenal in July 2022, where he won the FA Community Shield the following year, before Nottingham Forest paid around £10 million for him in August 2023.
His move to Nottingham Forest was not the end of the story. In August 2025 Forest sold him permanently to Olympique Lyonnais.
