Spartakus Buk go into the season in the I Liga, one tier up from where they spent the previous campaign. Promotion followed a 27:16 win over KPR Środa Wielkopolska in April 2024, the result that sealed the II Liga Group I title.

The club goes back to 1996, when Stanisław Jaroch set it up and took the first presidency; Paweł Łubiński holds the post now. Handball in Buk is not confined to Spartakus — the town also has the multi-sport club Patria Buk, founded in 1922, and a separate women's handball side, BDKPR, formed in 2019 — so the men's team built its own identity apart from both, known locally as the Bukowska Banda.

Home games are played at the Hala Widowiskowo-Sportowa OSiR w Buku, a hall that seats 350.
