Eynatten-Raeren

Three championships in a row do not happen by accident, and at Sporthalle Eynatten it happened with a squad built around imports who arrived for one European run and stayed for three domestic titles. Between 1999–2000 and 2001–2002, HC Eynatten took the Belgian title in successive seasons, adding the Belgian Cup in 2000, with players such as Blagojce Krstev, Pietro Greco, Daniel Brüll, Rudolf Tonkovic, Arndt von Behren and Malte Büscher carrying the club through its continental campaign that same year. A runners-up finish followed in 2002–2003, and by 2006 the club was back in a cup final it did not win.

The club traces back to 1972, but the name on the door today dates from 2008, when HC Eynatten merged with HC Raeren 76 to form HC Eynatten-Raeren, still known by the shorthand HCER. The fixture that matters most in that corner of the country is against KTSV Eupen, played out as the Ostbelgienderby, a reminder that this is East Belgium's handball, not just Eynatten's.

Academy work has kept producing players worth watching: Raphaël Kötters came through the ranks, wore the Belgium shirt, and left for Istres Provence Handball in 2021. In goal, Mark Leckebusch, a Dutch international, had two spells at the club either side of the 2010s. The women's side has had its own moments, reaching the Belgian Cup semi-finals in 2018–2019, and the youth section brought home the B10 category of the Partille Cup, handball's biggest youth tournament, played in Sweden.
