Sporting Pelt 2

Neerpelt built its handball club in 1969. The name above the door has shifted more than once — Sporting Neerpelt for its first forty years, then Sporting NeLo after linking with Lommel, before the club took back Sporting Pelt in August 2019 to mark its fiftieth year — and the reserve team has carried whichever name the first team wore at the time.

Sporting Pelt 2 plays in Belgian Division 1, a level below the senior side, and its results rarely make the club's own honours list: the 12 national championships and 9 Belgian Cups on the wall all belong to the first team. In red and black, at the Sporthal Dommelhof.

The rivalry that defines the club's calendar, the Noord-Limburgse derby against Achilles Bocholt, is fought out by the first team; the reserves play in its shadow rather than its centre. No player has built a name specifically through the second side, and no title carries its name alone — for Sporting Pelt 2, the record book still has nothing written in it.
