Braehead Arena sits inside a shopping centre in Renfrewshire, and for Glasgow Clan that address has never been incidental: when the venue's owner collapsed in November 2020 the team had to pause season-ticket sales and freeze operations while it negotiated with new owners just to keep a rink to play in. The building holds 4,000 for hockey, and the "Purple Army" that fills it took the club's colours from its branding rather than the other way round.
That was one of five Gardiner Conference championships the club has collected, alongside a single Aladdin Cup in 2013–14, though the Elite League title itself has stayed out of reach.
The name most attached to the club is Matthew Haywood's. He joined as a founding member in 2010 and became the franchise's all-time leader in appearances, known simply as "Mr. Clan" — a nickname earned by staying while coaches, rebrands and even the ownership of the arena itself changed around him.
