Hudiksvalls HC

The Holmen Center in Hudiksvall carried a different name for most of its life. Local supporters knew it as Glysishallen, or Glysisvallen, until 2021, when a sponsorship deal with the paper and pulp firm Holmen Iggesund put its name on the building.

Hudiksvalls HC, known locally as Hudik Hockey, was founded in 1978 and has built its identity around the third and fourth tiers of Swedish hockey, Hockeyettan and Division 2. The club's supporter group, Röda Väktarna, lent its colours to the team as much as the other way round, and the red, black and white kit has stayed put through the club's swings between divisions. Relegated to Division 2 in 2004, Hudiksvalls HC won the group in 2006 and returned to Division 1 the same year, having already topped the same division in 1996 and 1997.

Since that promotion in 2006, the club has settled into Hockeyettan without breaking through to the level above, coming closest in 2021/2022 and again in 2023/2024. Sune Bergman coached the side between 2005 and 2007, arriving with an SM-guld already won at HV71 in 1995. The nearest rivalry sits just eight kilometres down the road, against IF Sundsvall Hockey, close enough that away trips barely count as travel.

What has eluded the club through all of this is a place in Sweden's higher tiers.
