Between those two cup medals came a domestic championship podium in 2018/2019 and another in 2023/2024, seasons apart but joined by the same habit of finishing just off the very top.

The club traces back to the women's team Gorodnichanka, formed in Grodno in 2002; the men's side was carved out of it on 1 January 2006 by decree of the regional executive committee, and the name Kronon was put forward by Mikhail Shaban, then head of the regional handball federation, after an old name for the Neman. A debut season finishing tenth gave little indication of what followed: three straight fourth-place finishes in the mid-2010s before the bronze medals arrived.

Igor Sidko has coached the side since 2016, through both cup medals and both championship bronzes. Maxim Nesvadba carried the scoring load for years, topping the league with 206 goals in 2018/2019 before retiring in 2024, and the academy has sent Artem Korolek and Alexey Shinkel on to the national team.

Meshkov Brest supplies the fixture Grodno cares about most. Kronon plays its part of it at the Victoria sports complex on Gagarin Street, in a city that still calls the club's website home to the women's team it grew out of.
