Levanger HK Women

Every meeting with Byåsen Håndball Elite carries a name of its own in Levanger — "Kampen om Trøndelag," with Stjørdal-Blink providing the other regional friction. Levanger HK plays these games to prove the region does not end at the city limits.

The club itself formed in 1990, when the handball sections of Frol Idrettslag and SK Nessegutten merged under one name. The women's side spent years working toward the top division and reached it in 2006, before finishing bottom in 2013–14 and dropping back to the second tier, where it has stayed since.

Names have passed through the squad who went on to play internationally — Rakel Dögg Bragadóttir for Iceland, Gabriella Juhász for Hungary.

For now the task in front of the team is the same one that has defined the last decade: finding a route back up from the 1.
