Novy Jicin

HK Nový Jičín has spent most of its history a level below where a run like that would matter for promotion, shuttling between the second-tier East Division and the regional leagues beneath it, founded in 1946 as SK Nový Jičín before politics and reorganisation ran it through TJ Nový Jičín, then HC, then back to HK in 2014.

Twice the club has actually won its division outright — in 2000/01, beating HC Zubr Přerov in the playoffs, and again in 2021/22 against HC Slezan Opava in the final — and both times the promotion playoff that followed shut the door. The club plays under the nickname Ďáblové, the Devils, in blue, red and white, at a stadium that started life as an open-air rink before it was roofed over in 1980.
