Olimpia Kings Asuncion

Olimpia Kings arrive at the 2025 Liga Sudamericana Final Four having beaten Bauru in the quarter-finals before falling to Regatas Corrientes in the semi, finishing fourth. At home, the Apertura and Clausura titles of 2025 took the tally to 36 national championships, more than any other side in Paraguay.

The basketball section grew out of Club Olimpia, founded on 25 July 1902 and still the oldest club in the country; the name "Olimpia Kings" was only fixed in 2016, under the presidency of Juan Pablo Feliú. The white shirt with its black horizontal band, "El Franjeado," and the inherited nickname "El Expreso Decano" tie the basketball team to the football club's history rather than its own.

Between 1937 and 1992 Olimpia won the league in all but a handful of seasons, a period capped internationally in 1953 with the Campeonato Sudamericano de Clubes Campeones. Head coach Javier Martínez, who also played for the club, has overseen the recent title run alongside Alejandro Peralta and Edgar Riveros, both regulars through the 2025 championships.

The club no longer has a ground of its own. The Polideportivo Osvaldo Domínguez Dibb, where Olimpia played for years, was demolished in June 2024, and home games have since moved to the Polideportivo de la Cooperativa Capiatá.
