Orebro HK

Örebro HK's derbies never settled into one fixed name, but the intent behind them did.

The club started life as HC Örebro 90 and only took its current name in 2005, dropping nicknames like Pirates and Vipers that had marked its earlier identity. Relegation to Division 1 followed in 2003–04, and it took until 2009 to climb back to HockeyAllsvenskan. The comeback was completed in the 2011–12 season, when Örebro won the HockeyAllsvenskan regular season and earned promotion to the top division for the first time in 2013–14.

Behrn Arena, built in 1965 and rebuilt between 2010 and 2011, has hosted the club through both relegation and promotion. It seats 5,500 for hockey.

Several players who came through Örebro moved on to the NHL, among them goaltenders Robin Lehner and Jhonas Enroth, and more recently forward Leo Carlsson.
