Paraty

Sociedade Esportiva Paraty went the full distance to take the Campeonato Carioca Série C in 2025, beating Santa Cruz on penalties after the sides could not be separated over ninety minutes. The result sent the club up to Série B2.

That existence has been broken in two. The side began life in October 2013 as Associação Esportiva Independente Futebol Clube. It only became Sociedade Esportiva Paraty in November 2021, when the club turned professional — a separate line of history from Paraty Futebol Clube, an earlier side that had carried the town's name between 2011 and 2019 and no longer exists.

Home games are played at the Estádio Municipal Antônio Mário Pompeu Nardelli, a ground that holds around a thousand people.

Paraty carry navy blue, orange and white, and take the field for the most part in white, with a mascot fish, Separaty.
