«The Silver and Black»
The colours settled early: silver and black, the pairing that gave the club its nickname and its fans the name Raider Nation.
Davis later took the franchise to Los Angeles in 1982, winning the right in court after other owners tried to block the move, then brought it back to Oakland in 1995 when the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum would not build him the luxury suites he wanted. A quarter-century after that, the team left again, this time for Las Vegas, once Allegiant Stadium was finished.
All three Super Bowl wins came before either relocation shook the franchise loose from Oakland the first time. Jim Plunkett took the MVP award in Super Bowl XV; three years later Marcus Allen did the same in Super Bowl XVIII.
Kansas City brings its own history, stretching back far enough that a 1970 brawl between the two sides is still talked about; Denver completes the trio of AFC West rivals the Raiders have measured themselves against since the AFL days.
Allegiant Stadium seats 65,000, a figure that climbs past 70,000 when the occasion calls for it.
