8 Cup (South Africa) 2026/27

The MTN 8 (formerly the BP Top 8, SAA Supa 8, and SAA Super 8) is a South African football cup competition organized by the Premier Soccer League (PSL). It was founded in 1972, though it was not held between 1997 and 1999. The competition features the top eight teams from the previous season's Betway Premiership. The format consists of quarter-finals played as single matches, semi-finals played over two legs, and a final played as a single match at a neutral venue. The winner qualifies for the CAF Confederation Cup. Kaizer Chiefs hold the record for the most titles with 15, followed by Orlando Pirates with 14. The current title holder is Orlando Pirates, who won the 2024 edition by defeating Stellenbosch FC 3–1. The competition is distinct from the Nedbank Cup, which is an open-entry tournament involving lower-league teams, whereas the MTN 8 is exclusive to the top-flight clubs. The PSL, formed in 1996, succeeded the National Soccer League (1985–1995) as the organizer.
