About

The Campeonato Sergipano de Futebol Sub-20 is a youth football championship in the Brazilian state of Sergipe, organized by the Federação Sergipana de Futebol (FSF). The tournament serves as the primary state-level development pathway for players under 20, distinct from the non-existent official state U23 competition.

Founded in 2002, the inaugural edition was won by Sergipe. Between 2013 and 2018, the competition was temporarily rebranded as the Campeonato Sergipano Sub-19 before reverting to the U20 category. The current format involves 8 teams, often reduced to 7 due to withdrawals, playing a single round-robin group stage. The top four teams advance to single-match semifinals and a single-match final. Tie-breakers in knockout stages and finals are resolved by the team with the best overall campaign, meaning most points accumulated throughout the tournament.

Confiança is the most successful club with 9 titles, secured across various years since its inception. Other notable winners include Sergipe, Itabaiana, Lagarto, Falcon, Guarany-SE, Estanciano, and Pirambu. The competition was not held in 2020.

The champion qualifies for the Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior and the Copa do Brasil Sub-20. The competition operates within a two-tier system (Série A1 and Série A2), with promotion and relegation between them. The Série A2 champion also qualifies for the Copa São Paulo. In 2025, participating clubs include Dorense U20, Olímpico SE U20, Falcon U20, Guaraní SE U20, Carmopolis U20, and Itabaiana U20.
