Brinje-Grosuplje and Koper shared the points in a 1:1 draw during the third round of the 1. SNL on 2 August 2026. The result left the visitors in second place ahead of the hosts in eighth.
Brinje-Grosuplje took the lead in the 19th minute when G. Agyemang turned the ball into his own net. It was a moment that seemed to settle the game, and by then the visitors were already down to 10 men after E. Milosevic received a red card in the 24th minute. The home side held on grimly despite the numerical disadvantage.
Koper had dominated possession with 63 per cent, but their finishing was poor. They registered 15 shots but only one on target, with 14 attempts flying off target. Brinje-Grosuplje, with just 37 per cent of the ball, managed three shots and one on target, enough to take the lead through the own goal.
The game changed again in the 74th minute when Koper's R. Maher was sent off, leaving both sides with 10 players. Koper pressed forward and found their equaliser in the 75th minute through K. Manseri, a goal that came shortly after the dismissal. The visitors had opened talks about consistency, but this result kept them in contention.
Brinje-Grosuplje now sit on eight points from nine matches, while Koper remain on 15 points after eight games. The home side had lost their previous encounter 3:0 against Maribor, and this draw offered some respite from a difficult run of form.
