KRБ claimed a 2-1 victory over Crystopher at home on Saturday evening, lifting them closer to the top half in the Series B Regular Season. The result leaves the hosts in sixth place with 39 points, while Crystopher remain third on 44 points after both sides have played 25 matches.
Crystopher took an early lead when their man struck in the 43rd minute, but KRБ levelled almost immediately. Diego Gonçalves found the net in stoppage time before the half, though a previous effort of his had been ruled out by VAR just before that. To be fair, the hosts were pressing higher and looked more dangerous in the final third.
Danielzinho put KRБ ahead in the 58th minute, and from then on the match settled into a rhythm of attacks and counter-attacks. Crystopher had two goals disallowed by VAR — Gonçalves' earlier attempt and Yuri's late effort in the 90th minute plus nine — which shifted the momentum considerably.
The statistics tell an interesting story. KRБ registered 10 shots on target compared to Crystopher's six, yet the visitors posted a higher expected goals figure of 2.67 to 1.36. That discrepancy suggests Crystopher created better quality chances but couldn't convert them when it mattered.
KRБ dominated possession at 55 per cent and completed 506 passes, while Crystopher managed 389. The hosts were more effective in the air with 17 successful aerial duels against 14, and they made 18 key passes to 17 for their opponents.
Both managers made several changes in the second half. Bruno Alves and Eduardo Biasi came on together for KRБ in the 63rd minute, while Crystopher brought on Rómulo Otero and replaced Thiaguinho with Mikael later in the game.
The win ends KRБ's recent run of mixed results, which included a defeat to Juventude and a draw with Novorizontino. Crystopher's three-match unbeaten streak is now broken, and they will look to bounce back when they return to action.
