Triglav took all three points from Drven Vrhnika in the second Slovenian league on Friday, winning 1-0 in front of a modest crowd. The result leaves both sides level on points, though hosts have played one more game.
There was just the one chance worth mentioning, and it came through the visitors. A goal at the 58th minute broke the deadlock, though the provider did not name the scorer. And here's the thing — when a match yields a single goal, you pay attention to who made it count.
By then, both teams had already established their early-season patterns. Drven Vrhnika sit fifth with five games, three wins and two defeats. Triglav are third after four outings, three victories and one loss. Same number of points, different storylines.
The hosts arrived with mixed recent form. A 1-3 defeat to Orient 1919 in late July followed a 1-0 win over Brijnje-Grosuple. The visitors, meanwhile, had drawn 2-2 with Segesta Sisak and lost 1-4 to Waldhof Mannheim in their last two fixtures.
With no possession or shot statistics supplied, the match speaks for itself. One goal decided it, and the table shows neither side has yet established clear dominance. The gap between third and fifth is measured in games played, not points.
