Match report
Ghana lost 2-4 to Gambia in the Group Stage - 2 of the AFCON qualifiers on 29 September. The hosts had been struggling, picking up only one win in their last five games. To be fair, the visitors took the lead early despite the pressure.
Ernest Nuamah opened the scoring with a penalty in the 27th minute. Felix Ohene Afena-Gyan doubled the advantage six minutes later before Muhammed Badammosi and Omar Colley struck back for the visitors.
And here's the thing about the second half. Gambia scored twice more while Ghana struggled to find their rhythm, with Ebrima Colley netting in the 68th minute and completing his brace in the 90+1' minute.
Ghana controlled 74 percent of possession and launched 105 attacks, yet their shots accuracy sat at just 0.31. Gambia managed only 26 percent possession but hit the target with 0.63 accuracy. By then, the hosts had made five changes while the visitors turned to the kids.
The result leaves Ghana with a difficult path in the qualifying group. They have not won since their match against Panama in June.
