Ljungskile SK secured a 3:2 victory over GIF Sundsvall at NP3 Arena on Sunday in the Superettan regular season. The match, contested in front of a modest crowd at the local ground, ended with the visitors taking all three points despite trailing for much of the contest.
Lukas corner opened the scoring inside three minutes, a quick strike that set the tone for Sundsvall's afternoon. The same player doubled the advantage from a corner just six minutes before the half-hour mark. Elvis Hansson made it three before the break, and by then Sundsvall appeared in control of proceedings.
What followed was a dramatic shift. Eron Gojani pulled one back for Ljungskile in the 86th minute, and moments later, in the 91st minute, another goal — the scorer not specified — completed the turnaround. The hosts had been on a poor run, losing four of their last five, and this result did little to ease the pressure.
Statistically, the match told a different story. Sundsvall held 55 per cent possession and registered nine shots on target, but only converted three. Ljungskile, with less time on the ball, managed six shots on target and scored twice, though the third came late and changed everything.
Both sides made changes in the second half. Sundsvall introduced Shalom Ekong and Nils Eriksson, while Ljungskile brought on William Nilsson, David Frisk, and Ludvig Nåvik. The substitutions reflected the urgency of each side as the match progressed.
The result leaves Sundsvall in 16th place with 19 points from 25 games, while Ljungskile move up to 12th with 28 points. One goal separates them in the table, and the gap could widen if Sundsvall cannot find consistency.
