Явор beat Телеоптик 5:1 in the Regular Season opening round of the Прва Лига on Saturday evening. The hosts controlled proceedings from the start, building an early lead before the visitors lost their discipline. To be fair, the result reflected the gulf between sides that sat third and thirteenth in the table going into the match.
M. Mirosavljev opened the scoring in the fourth minute, catching Teleoptik off guard. A. Radonjic doubled the advantage just before half-time, and then came the moment that shifted everything. R. Premovic received a yellow card in the thirty-third minute before being sent off two minutes later, leaving Телеоптик to defend with ten men.
By then, Явор had switched their approach. M. Mirosavljev found the net again in the forty-fifth minute plus two, and the numerical advantage told. B. Cande added a fifth in the seventy-eighth, and there was one more goal in the ninetieth, though the scorer was not recorded. The visitors simply could not recover from that early deficit.
Substitutions came thick and fast as Яavor looked to manage the game. I. Martinovic, D. Bacanovic, B. Acquah and D. Ristic all entered the action in the second half, while U. Stefanovic was brought on in the eighty-second minute. Yellow cards for M. Maricic, U. Stefanovic, D. Radovic and M. Nenadovic showed the match had grown edgy as Телеоптик tried to find a way back.
The result matters more than the scoreline. Яavor move closer to the top with seven points from their opening fixtures, while Телеоптик sit seven points from safety with three defeats already. The visitors have not won since their opening day, and this performance suggests they face a difficult season ahead.
