Leiden — Brussels Basketball: 61:77, BNXT League

Brussels claimed a 77-61 victory over Leiden in the BNXT League on Friday evening. The visitors controlled the tempo from the opening tip and never let the hosts back into the contest. It was a straightforward evening for Brussels, who found their rhythm early and stuck to it.

Leiden started with energy but switched off at the back when it mattered. Brussels worked their short corners and punished every hesitation. By then the gap had opened wide and the visitors refused to go away.

and here's the thing — we had backed the hosts at 54 per cent confidence. The match did not follow that script. Leiden's defence was porous and Brussels found a way through every time they looked.

The result keeps Brussels in contention while Leiden drop further behind. Three losses in their last four games is not a pattern the home side wants to see. They need to find answers before the next fixture.
