Minija beat Dynava 3:2 in the cup semi-finals on September 1st, 2026. The match finished in the usual fashion for these ties — one side pulling away late on, though by then Dynava had already built a lead they couldn't hold. The visitors came into the game knowing they'd need to be at their best, and for large stretches they were.
G. Zabita opened the scoring early, catching Dynava out at the 11th minute. It was a clean finish, nothing fancy about it. Dynava responded when D. Nwegbo found the net at 51 minutes, leveling things up by then. The home side's goalkeeper had nothing to do all evening until that point, then suddenly he was busy.
Dynava took the lead through S. Abou at 69 minutes, but L. Zingertas struck back almost immediately at 70. By then the match had turned into something else entirely — end-to-end stuff, nothing to do with tactical setup anymore. D. Nwegbo added a second at 79 minutes, and that's when you could see Minija's players looking at each other, wondering what was happening.
There were plenty of bookings in the second half — K. Aderounmu, B. Diawara, O. Gorodenko, K. Mantinis, N. Komissarov, S. Morarenko all picked up yellows. The substitutions started coming at 58 minutes when D. Pipiras was replaced, followed by I. Kotov at 60. Minija made three changes in quick succession at 75 minutes: M. Sidibe, K. Aderounmu and O. Gorodenko all went off, while J. Obi Chinonso came on for the visitors at 81 minutes.
Minija's recent form had been impressive — five straight games without defeat before this one, including a 5:0 win over Ekranas Panevžys and a 4:0 against Hegelmann II. Dynava, meanwhile, had drawn two of their last five and lost to Žalgiris II on their most recent outing. The result sends Minija through to the final.
