Strømmen secured a 2-1 victory over Moss in the First Division's Regular Season round 20 on Saturday. The away side took all three points despite playing out much of the match on the back foot. It was a result that moved them level on points with their opponents.
Strømmen went ahead through N. Hristov just before half-time, firing home in the 45th minute to extend their lead. Moss responded quickly with J. Kristengard finding the net in the 40th minute to equalise before the break. By then the visitors had already established a rhythm that would serve them well.
The decisive moment arrived in the 64th minute when O. Aga slipped past the last defender to slot home. Strømmen held on despite a flurry of attacks from the home side, and here's the thing — they never looked like conceding again. Moss threw men forward but could not find the equaliser.
Statistically the match told an interesting story. Moss dominated possession at 58 per cent and registered 109 attacks compared to Strømmen's 103. Yet the visitors were sharper in front of goal, landing six shots on target to three. And by then the damage was done.
The result leaves Strømmen three points clear of Moss in the table. Both sides have now played 20 matches, with the visitors sitting on 21 points and their hosts on 19. A narrow margin that could prove decisive come the end of the season.
