Nesebyr crushed Pirin Blagoevgrad 7-0 in the fifth round of the Second League on Saturday. The hosts opened their campaign with a statement win that left their visitors rooted at the bottom of the table. Pirin had already lost all five previous matches before this one, so the result extended a winless run that now stretches to seven games.
The opening exchanges were frantic. Nesebyr struck twice within a minute of each other, with R. Ismailov adding a second before the quarter-hour mark. By then the visitors had already switched to a back three, but it made little difference. Pirin's D. Ivanov picked up a yellow card in the twenty-fourth minute as the hosts felt the pressure and kept pushing.
The second half brought more goals and a flurry of changes. I. Kolev doubled his tally after the interval, and V. Kunev found space on the counter to make it four. S. Statev ended a barren spell with two goals in quick succession, the last one in the seventy-eighth minute. Nesebyr brought on five substitutes in the space of twenty minutes, including Kolev and Ismailov, who had done their damage.
Pirin managed just one shot on target all afternoon and surrendered possession to the hosts. Nesebyr registered 14 shots on target from their 77 attacks compared to their opponents' 67. The visitors collected three yellow cards to the hosts' one, and the pattern of the game never really shifted after the opening exchanges.
Nesebyr sit eighth with ten points from seven games, three wins and three defeats. They had lost three of their four previous matches but showed more control here. Pirin remain eighteenth on zero points after seven losses and have not scored in their last three outings.
