By then the gulf in quality was already apparent before kickoff, and it showed in the final scoreline.
Obernoland had looked to be finding their feet after a draw with Eichhorn in August, but that form evaporated against a side now sitting above them by eight places. And here's the thing — the visitors had lost three of their last five before this, yet still arrived with more momentum. They opened the scoring early and never looked back, punishing the hosts for giving away too many cheap fouls in dangerous areas.
The home side's recent run reads like a cautionary tale: a 12-0 hammering at Bremerhaven, a narrow defeat to Aumund-Fegesack, and now this. To be fair they drew at home to Eichhorn and shared points with Union Bremen, but those results now feel like false dawn.
