Inácio brace sinks HEBC as Dortmund reach last 32
Samuele Inácio scored twice as Borussia Dortmund thrashed fifth-tier HEBC 5-0 in the DFB Cup first round, bouncing back from his red card against Hamburg.
Borussia Dortmund needed only until the 33rd minute to break down fifth-tier HEBC in the first round of the DFB Cup, then ran out 5-0 winners with a brace from Samuele Inácio.
Niko Kovač made seven changes from the Bundesliga opener. Alexander Meyer replaced Gregor Kobel in goal, Joey Veerman made his full debut and Mathis Albert started for the first time as a professional. Ramy Bensebaini served a suspension after his red card in the Supercup, while Emre Can and Nico Schlotterbeck remained out injured.
HEBC, an Oberliga side, held out for half an hour and gave Dortmund little to work with. Marcel Sabitzer fired wide early on, Inácio struck the side-netting, and at the other end Jannik Schoon produced a fine save to deny Felix Nmecha. HEBC's goalkeeper also kept out Robert Schick's effort.
The deadlock broke in the 33rd minute when Julian Ryerson's cross was turned into his own net by Janek Wrede. Three minutes later Svensson finished first-time after another Ryerson delivery, and Inácio made it 0-3 just before half-time, converting from close range after Sabitzer and Ryerson combined.
Inácio was not finished. He struck again in first-half stoppage time, combining once more with Ryerson to complete his brace and put Dortmund 4-0 up before the interval. Silva added a fifth after the break, finishing off a move started by Veerman.
Inácio had been sent off against Hamburg the previous weekend. His two goals here put that behind him and sent Dortmund into the last 32.
