Real Madrid have identified Declan Rice as a target for a future midfield rebuild, according to TEAMtalk reports.
Rodri had been Madrid's first choice to add control in the middle of the pitch, but he joined Manchester City this summer. Madrid opted against bringing in a replacement, instead shifting Bernardo Silva into the deeper role. Rice is now understood to be under consideration with an eye on the longer term.
Transfermarkt puts his market value at €120 million.
Arsenal regard him as central to Mikel Arteta's side and, by all accounts, are already working on fresh terms to tie him down before any interest from Madrid can develop into an approach.
