Carlos Vicens: Braga fell well below its level
Sp. Braga coach admitted his side were far below their standard in the 1-2 loss to E. Amadora and vowed a different response on Monday.
Carlos Vicens made no attempt to dress up Sp. Braga's 1-2 defeat to E. Amadora, telling reporters afterwards that the team had fallen well short of its own standard.
The coach pointed to a specific spell after the interval as the moment the game slipped away.
Braga's squad this season includes midfielder Diego Henrique Oliveira Rodrigues, who joined in February 2026 and has scored twice, and 22-year-old defender Diogo Martins Travassos, signed in August. Vicens now has little time to dwell on the result: Braga are back in action on Monday, against opponents who, by his own account, will offer a stern test of whatever response he can extract from his players.
If Estoril's Jordan Arnolin does get more minutes off the bench in the coming weeks, as reported this week, it will be against a Braga side still searching for the level Vicens says his squad is capable of.
