Sandro Mazzola's funeral was held on Monday afternoon at the Basilica di Sant'Ambrogio, two days after the Inter and Italy forward died at 83. Fans stood outside with flags and banners, and an Inter jersey lay on the coffin.
Representatives of Milan, Juventus and Torino were among those inside. The Juventus delegation, directors Giovanni Carnevali and Ricky Massara, was met with warm applause from Inter supporters as it arrived. The day before, some Juventus ultras had turned their backs during the minute's silence before the Serie A match against Atalanta at the Allianz Stadium.

Mazzola spent his whole career at Inter, from 1960 until he retired in 1977. His father Valentino captained the Grande Torino side that died in the Superga plane crash in May 1949, when Sandro was six.
He was also part of the Italy squad that beat Switzerland to qualify for the 1974 World Cup.
