Anthony Martial in talks with CSKA Moscow and Krasnodar
The free agent is weighing offers from two Russian Premier League clubs and Spanish sides after turning down a lucrative deal from Libya's Al-Ittihad Tripoli.
Anthony Martial's next move is expected to be settled during the international break, and it will not be in France. L'Équipe reports that CSKA Moscow and Krasnodar are both in contact with the free agent, alongside two Spanish clubs, one of them Malaga.
The 30-year-old has been without a club since leaving Monterrey earlier this summer, midway through a two-year contract. In Mexico he made 20 appearances across all competitions for a side now 10th in Liga MX on 13 points from eight games, scoring once and adding three assists.
Interest has come from further afield too. Libyan side Al-Ittihad Tripoli offered Martial a net salary of £8.6 million over two years plus a £4.3 million signing-on fee, according to Foot Mercato. He turned it down.
Auxerre, now managed by Will Still, remain the only Ligue 1 club to have tabled a formal offer, though no deal was reached. Lorient also passed on signing him — club advisor Laurent Koscielny has confirmed the Breton side, currently 12th in Ligue 1 on five points from five games, were offered the forward and declined. Lens and Nice have previously been linked, and Everton were mentioned in England after their deadline-day move for Folarin Balogun collapsed.
Martial left Manchester United, where United paid £36 million to sign him, two years ago and spent time at AEK Athens before his switch to Monterrey. A move to the Russian Premier League would make CSKA or Krasnodar his third club since departing Old Trafford.
