César Montes leaves Mexico camp with gluteal injury

César Montes has left the Mexico camp with a gluteal muscle injury and will miss all four of the national team's friendlies. The Lokomotiv Moscow defender, 29, is returning to Moscow for treatment, according to beIN SPORTS as relayed by Sport-Express.
Montes had been training apart from the main group because of discomfort, after which the medical staff ruled him out. Dagoberto Espinosa of América takes his place in the squad.
Mexico, coached by Rafa Márquez, face Colombia on 27 September, Peru on 30 September, the United States on 4 October and Chile on 7 October.
Montes captains the national side. He wore the armband at the World Cup, where he was sent off in the opening game against South Africa and missed the next match. He has played four games for Lokomotiv this season in all competitions, without a goal or an assist. His contract runs to the end of June 2029.
