Adrian Bajrami

In October 2025, Adrian Bajrami started for Switzerland against Sweden in a World Cup qualifier. Three years earlier, the defender had won three caps for Albania.

Bajrami's football education began close to home, at FC Langenthal, before a move through TOBE and into the Young Boys academy. In 2018 he joined Benfica's academy in Lisbon. In 2022 he was part of the Benfica side that won the Intercontinental Under-20 Cup, and that same year he was promoted to Benfica B, where he made 56 appearances and scored four goals in Liga Portugal 2.

His route into Benfica's first team was narrow: a single Primeira Liga appearance, in the 2024/25 season. He was part of the squad that won the Taça da Liga that season, though he was not named among the players for the final against Sporting.

The Swiss club exercised that option on 24 September 2025, and Bajrami signed a contract with Luzern running to 2028. He made 17 appearances and scored once for the club before, in the summer of 2026, moving on to Braga in Portugal on a contract to 2031, for whom he has made one appearance so far.
