About the player
Adrian Frânculescu made his mark in Romanian youth football with a goal scored from inside his own half while on the books at CFR Cluj. In the final itself, against Farul, he saved two penalties as CFR Cluj's youth side won 7-6 and Frânculescu was named man of the match.
He began his development at the FCSB academy before moving to CFR Cluj on a free transfer in 2021, where he was attached to the club's second team. In 2023 he went out on loan to CSA Steaua București, spending three seasons in Liga II. Over that spell he made 76 appearances and kept 27 clean sheets, a run that gave him a settled place as a regular in the second division.
Frânculescu has also represented Romania at youth level, with caps for the Under-17 and Under-21 sides and three appearances for the Under-19 team.
In the summer of 2026 he joined Corvinul Hunedoara on loan until 30 June 2027.
