About the player
Alejandro Alcalá started out with LA Galaxy's academy before spending time with LA Galaxy II and Ventura County FC in MLS Next Pro. In January 2024 he signed for Manchester City, joining the club's Elite Development Squad. He played for City's under-18 side in the 2023-24 season, and the following year helped the under-21 team win Premier League 2.
Alcalá underwent a medical at Querétaro in December 2025 and completed the move to the Liga MX club. Neither appearance has yet produced a goal or an assist.
Alcalá has represented Mexico at under-15, under-16, under-18 and under-20 level. With the under-16 side he won the Torneo Delle Nazioni and a tournament in Trinidad and Tobago, both in 2019, and in 2022 he featured in the MLS Next All-Star Game. He has not been called up to Mexico's senior squad.
