Alex Mighten

Alex Mighten was born in West Hartford, Connecticut, but the family had settled in Nottingham by the time he turned three, and it was in the city's academy system that his football began. He came up through Nottingham Forest's youth ranks and, before establishing himself as a senior player, scored a hat-trick for England's under-18s against Australia.

Across five years with Forest's first team, from 2019 to 2024, he made 56 appearances and scored four goals.

Loan spells took him to Sheffield Wednesday, then to Belgium with Kortrijk, and finally to Port Vale, where a leg injury in March 2024 ended his season. He left Forest as a free agent later that year, and San Diego FC signed him after taking on his registration rights from Nashville, on a deal running through 2026 with an option for 2027.

In MLS, Mighten has settled into a role for San Diego, with 35 appearances and one goal for the club through July 2026. The 2025 season was disrupted twice by injury, first to his lower body in May and then to his upper body in August. At youth level he represented England from under-15 through under-20, but a senior cap has so far eluded him.
