On 30 January 2021, he stepped up in the 97th minute and sent the goalkeeper the wrong way with a Panenka penalty.

The forward came through Bahia's academy before moving to Cruzeiro's youth ranks, and much of his early career was spent away from Cruzeiro on loan — spells in Brazil at Itaúna, Cabofriense, Rio Branco-SP and Avaí, plus a stint in Japan with Kashiwa Reysol and one in Romania with CFR Cluj. Back at Cruzeiro from 2011, he won the Brazilian championship with the club in 2013 before a 2015 move to Chinese club Hangzhou Greentown, reportedly worth around three million US dollars, where he scored 35 goals across four seasons in the Chinese Super League.

After returns to Guarani and Vitória, and the title-winning run at Chapecoense, Anselmo Ramon found his most productive spell at CRB, where he played from 2022 to 2025. He became the club's top scorer of the 21st century with 64 goals, a record he broke in a match against Botafogo-SP in July 2024, and he was the leading scorer of the Campeonato Alagoano in 2024 with six goals. He also won the Alagoas state title with CRB in four straight years, from 2022 to 2025, and was named to the Campeonato Catarinense team of the tournament in 2021 and the Copa do Nordeste team of the tournament in 2024.

In the middle of 2025, Anselmo Ramon moved to Goiás as part of a swap deal that sent Breno Herculano to CRB, with Goiás also paying a fee. He added a Campeonato Goiano title with his new club in 2026.
