About the player
Thiago Rodrigues spent most of his career in the lower divisions of Brazilian football before a serious run finally came at Vasco da Gama, and once it did, he became the club's first-choice goalkeeper through the 2022 Série B campaign and helped drive Vasco back up to the top flight. Signed in December 2021, during that season he set a club record for minutes without conceding, stretching to 584, and finished the competition with the most saves in the division, including 32 rated as "difficult" — figures that also earned him a spell ranked statistically as the best goalkeeper in Brazilian football that August. Voted the best goalkeeper of the Campeonato Carioca and named Vasco's player of the year by supporters in the Troféu Netvasco, he stands 189cm tall.
That career began at Paraná Clube, where he came through the academy from 2004 and made his first-team debut in 2008. He stayed connected to the club on and off for well over a decade, interrupted by loan spells and short stints elsewhere, including a Campeonato Paranaense title and promotion to Série B with Paraná in 2012. Financial trouble at the club eventually pushed him out in 2019. He found stability again at CSA, where he won the Campeonato Alagoano in 2021.
After his high point at Vasco, Thiago moved to Vitória in March 2023 but featured sparingly, playing just two Série B matches before leaving in December that year. He joined Goiás in January 2024 and, following an injury to Tadeu in 2025, established himself as the team's starting goalkeeper, going on to sign a contract extension through 2026. That year, he added a Campeonato Goiano title with the club.
