About the player
António Ribeiro is a product of Porto's own academy. He joined the club's youth system in 2016 from Colégio Ermesinde.
A loan to Padroense between 2019 and 2020 was away from the academy before he returned to Porto. He signed a contract renewal in June 2023 and was moved up into the reserve side, Porto B, where he now plays as a centre-back wearing the number 54 shirt. His senior debut followed quickly: he started against Belenenses on 20 August 2023.
The international record traces a steady climb through Portugal's youth ranks — from the under-15s in 2019 through the under-16s, under-18s and under-19s, and on to a first under-20 appearance in 2024.
In August 2024 he suffered a head injury during a friendly against Nacional.
