About the player
Between 2013 and 2016, Arnaldo spent time at six clubs on loan, and at four of them he played fewer than a dozen matches. Rio Branco-SP gave him 11, América-RN four, Criciúma seven, Joinville four, Grêmio Novorizontino three. Only Portuguesa, in 2014, offered anything close to a full season: 24 appearances.
The right-back had started at Mirassol, where he made 25 appearances and scored twice between 2011 and 2013. A settled spell at Ituano in 2016–17, 26 matches. In mid-2017 he joined Botafogo, and in his first Série A season there he played 37 matches and scored once. He won the Campeonato Carioca with the club in 2018, though that year he was loaned to Ceará for 12 games; in 2019 he went to Ponte Preta and played 30.
He moved to Atlético-GO in 2020 and took the Campeonato Goiano title in his first year. He made 45 Série A appearances for the club and 15 in the state championship. A year at Operário Ferroviário followed, then a brief return to Mirassol in 2023 and 14 Série C matches for CSA.
He has been at Náutico in Recife since 2024, wearing number 2. The workload has been moderate: 16 Série C matches and nine in the Campeonato Pernambucano in his first year, then 22 and four in 2025. He scored his only competitive goal for the club against Tombense in July 2025. In 2026 he has played 13 matches in Série B. Every transfer of his career has been a free one.
