About the player
Every defender's biography has a hometown club chapter, but Bautista Barros Schelotto's has stayed almost entirely within Gimnasia La Plata's own system: he came up through the academy and made his first-team debut there in 2021.
Gimnasia sent him on loan to Fénix in the second half of 2022, and in 2024 to Platense, first on a free loan with a 60% purchase option attached, then on an extended, paid loan without that buying clause when the arrangement was renewed in January 2025.
That stretch at Platense produced the high point of his career so far. The club won the 2025 Torneo Apertura, beating Huracán 1-0 in the final at the Madre de Ciudades stadium in Santiago del Estero on 1 June 2025.
