Agustín Auzmendi

Agustín Auzmendi's career only found its shape once he left Argentina behind. He began at Acassuso, spending four years in the Primera B Metropolitana. A brief spell in Colombia with Jaguares de Córdoba produced nothing — four appearances, no goals — before a move to Honduras.

At Olancho F.C. in the 2022–2023 season, Auzmendi scored 23 goals in 35 league matches. Motagua signed him in 2023, and the goals kept coming: 16 in 22 league appearances plus four in the cup during the 2024–2025 campaign, with 53 goals in 79 matches across all competitions during his time at the club. In 2024 he won the Honduran championship with Motagua in the Apertura tournament. His form in the country was strong enough that reports emerged of Auzmendi weighing up Honduran citizenship with a view to a call-up for that national team's World Cup qualifying campaign.

In 2025 he returned to Argentina, joining Godoy Cruz. Sent on loan to Gimnasia La Plata at the start of 2026, he has managed two goals in 16 league appearances in his first season there, wearing number 29. Auzmendi has never been called up to Argentina's national team.
