Nelson Federico Insfrán

Sent on under Diego Maradona against Banfield in November 2019, he was shown a red card in the 28th minute — a decision the Argentine Football Association's disciplinary committee later overturned, ruling that the opposing player had simulated the foul.

Insfrán came up through Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata's academy and has stayed with the club through most of his career. At Defensores de Cambaceres, in 2016 and 2017, he played 30 matches and kept six clean sheets. Later loans, to Central Córdoba and San Martín de Tucumán in 2022, brought far less action: a single Copa Argentina appearance for Central Córdoba, lost on penalties to Gimnasia de Jujuy, and no official minutes at all at San Martín.

In 2023 he was credited with a central role in keeping the club in the Primera División , making saves that helped it avoid relegation.

Insfrán has not won a title with any of his clubs and has not received individual awards such as goalkeeper of the month. His international experience is limited to a single appearance for an Argentine youth selection; he has not been called up to the senior national team. In March 2026 he was injured in a match against Banfield, a groin problem that opened the door for reserve goalkeeper Julián Cadivevic to make his own debut.
