About the player
Franco Torres came through Banfield's academy without breaking into the first team, then moved to Gimnasia La Plata in 2019. It worked: he made his senior debut for Gimnasia on 17 July 2021.
The forward scored his first goal in Argentina's top division on 25 April 2023, a milestone that came after the frustration of the loan year. A further loan followed in 2024, this time to Chile's Deportes Copiapó, where he played 23 matches and scoring four goals.
He returned to Gimnasia for the 2025 season, but before it began he suffered a serious injury: a torn anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus in his right knee, which kept him out for ten months. He was back in action by October 2025, netting against Independiente Santa Fe in the Copa Sudamericana group stage in the 2025/2026 campaign.
Torres has not called up to Argentina's senior or youth national teams, and he has yet to win a trophy with any of his clubs.
