About the player
The Lev Yashin Award for best goalkeeper in Russia went to Bogdan Ovsyannikov for the 2022/23 season. He was also nominated in 2021/22 and again in 2025/26.
He started out at Volga Nizhny Novgorod in his home city before moving to the Krylia Sovetov Samara academy in 2017. The route to the first team ran through the reserves: Krylia Sovetov-2 won the Russian Second League in 2017/18, and Ovsyannikov did not appear for the senior side until a Russian Cup match in 2019, followed by his first league football in the FNL in 2020.
The 2020/21 season was the busiest of his time in Samara. Krylia Sovetov won the FNL title and reached the final of the Russian Cup. By mid-2025 he had passed 120 professional appearances.
A loan to União Leiria in Portugal in 2017 produced no first-team football. At youth international level he won two caps for Russia at under-20 in 2018, at the COTIF tournament, against Valencia and Qatar.
His eight years at Krylia Sovetov ended in July 2025, when the club released him. He signed for Orenburg on a free transfer the same month.
