Carlos Alfonso Grados Heredia

Edison Flores had the goal at his mercy in the 2026 Torneo Apertura when Carlos Grados got across to deny him — the save that kept Universitario at bay and put the Deportivo Moquegua keeper on the highlight reels within weeks of his January 2026 arrival on a free transfer.

He had joined the Sporting Cristal academy in 2011 and was promoted to the first team in 2014, though the wait for competitive football was long: no appearances that first year, and a professional debut only in 2016, against Universitario de Deportes. He was in the squad for three Liga 1 titles — 2014, 2016 and 2018 — but his standing shifted across them, from onlooker, to eleven outings as understudy in 2016, to starter for much of the 2018 campaign.

Two brief stops followed, Ayacucho FC in 2019 and FC Carlos Stein in 2020, both moves made on free transfers. The stay that defined him began at the end of 2020 at Universidad César Vallejo, where he settled in as first choice and stayed through 2024. That period brought continental football: the Copa Libertadores in 2021 and several Copa Sudamericana campaigns, plus repeated selections as best goalkeeper of the match.

The 2024 season pulled in two directions. Grados was recognised as one of the league's best goalkeepers and drew interest from Alianza Lima, who were working through an injury crisis in the position. He stayed at Vallejo, and Vallejo went down. He signed for ADT on a free transfer for 2025, wearing number 1, before the move to Moquegua.
