About the player
Christian Kouan Oulaï spent seven years inside one club before he played anywhere else. Signed into the Perugia system in 2017, the midfielder from Abidjan moved between the reserve side Vigor Perconti and the first team, and by the time he left in 2024 he had built up close to 170 league appearances across Serie B and Serie C, with more than twenty goals.
He left Perugia as a free agent in the summer of 2024 and joined Cosenza. The first season there was a full one by minutes and an empty one by output: 33 Serie B matches, no goals. When Cosenza dropped into Serie C the following year, the goals returned — five in 22 matches, all of his Cosenza scoring compressed into that single campaign.
In February 2026 he moved to Benevento for €300,000, taking the number 28 shirt. He played 11 matches in Serie C for the club that season, registering one assist, and has made one appearance in Serie B in 2026/27.
Kouan has spent his entire senior career in Italy. He is sometimes listed simply as Christian Kouan, without the second surname.
