About the player
He debuted there in the second division in June 2013 before Estudiantes signed him in early 2015.
He stayed with Atlético Tucumán for three seasons, and in June 2019 he signed with Racing in a deal that also involved Jonatán Cabral and Augusto Lotti moving the other way as part of the exchange.
In September 2020 he left for Mexico, joining Tijuana. That stint included a loan spell at Querétaro in 2022, before he returned to Argentina in early 2023 on loan at Defensa y Justicia. The move became permanent in 2024, and he now wears the number 19 shirt for the club.
Barbona has not been called up to Argentina's youth or senior national teams.
